The partnership between Italy and Senegal on the issues of financial inclusion of the local economic fabric (cooperatives, in particular) and support for social and solidarity economy actors was at the centre of the meeting between the Italian ambassador to Dakar, Caterina Bertolini, the head of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) office in Dakar, Marco Falcone, and the Minister of Microfinance and Social and Solidarity Economy (Mmess), Alioune Dione: this was announced by the Italian embassy in Dakar with a note on Facebook, adding that the signing of the agreement relating to the Progress project supported by Italy through AICS and implemented by Mmess concerning issues on which Italy has historical experience in many productive sectors is expected shortly.
