Ambassador Marco della Seta was invited to deliver the inauguration speech for the 65th academic year of the University of Hanoi.
The ceremony, held on Monday 16 September, was attended by the rector, Nguyen Van Trao, and the university president, Pham Ngoc Thach, as well as staff, faculty and students, together with representatives from companies and other countries whose language is taught at Hanoi University.
The choice of the Silk Ambassador to deliver the inaugural speech constitutes an important recognition of the importance attributed to the teaching of Italian by the Vietnamese university, whose Department of Italianistics has been promoting Italian culture and language on a daily basis for over twenty years now.
