On Sunday 29 September, starting at 11 a.m., at the military stadium in Skopje's city park, the first 'Day of Italian Sport in the World' will be celebrated, a new event promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Sport and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI). This event, organised by the Italian Embassy in Skopje, is intended to emphasise the values of respect, passion, fair play and team spirit, which are characteristic of sport and at the same time a very useful tool for strengthening cooperation and promoting dialogue between nations. This year's edition of the 'Italian Sport Day' devotes special attention to football, one of the most popular sports in Italy, but also in North Macedonia. On the occasion of the event - which will be presented by the Italian Ambassador Andrea Silvestri and the Minister of Sport Borko Ristovski - the newly established Macedonian fans' association of Italian football teams "Nivachi Calcho Tricolore" will be inaugurated. With their colours, jerseys, flags, scarves and other fan gadgets, numerous supporters of Juventus, Inter, Milan, Lazio, Naples and Rome will be present at their stands, so that visitors during the day can learn about the history of these world-famous football brands, and can meet and talk with passionate fans of these teams.
After the ceremonial part, football matches of the local men's and women's junior teams (8-12 years old) will take place, as well as a small football tournament between the fan clubs of the Italian teams present in the country. Tents of Macedonian fan clubs can be visited during the entire event, and there will also be stands with food and drinks. The quiz 'How well do you know Italian football?' will also take place at the Italian Embassy.
