The Italian Consulate in Karachi celebrated 'Italian Language Week 2024' by organising a cabaret show with puppets by Italian artist Pamela Mastrorosa for school children.
The inspiration behind the initiative was to promote the Italian language and culture among younger children and introduce them to the wonders of our country.
The Consul General, Danilo Giurdanella, welcomed all the students and teachers from the various schools for their full participation in the discovery of Italy, its language and culture.
The children were welcomed by the puppets, Pamela Mastrorosa and Mr Franck Le Lay, who interacted with them while they ate breakfast.
The Consulate of Italy also distributed a special publication 'Mille Meraviglie' by Geronimo Stilton, the famous children's character, who travels to Italy to explore the thousands of wonders that Italy boasts with its rich culture, history and tradition.
The Italian Language Week in the World (WILW), scheduled for October 2024, will be celebrated by Italian diplomatic and cultural representations abroad. Its theme is 'Italian and the book: the world between the lines' and aims to explore the link between language and literature in the contemporary world, highlighting the role of the book as a vehicle of Italian cultural heritage, values and identity.
