On 5 November 2024, the Ambassador of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarah Eti Castellani, presented her Letters of Credence to the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović.
During the ceremony, the intense historical, economic, social and cultural relations that unite Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina were reaffirmed, ties that are reflected in a broad and fruitful bilateral cooperation. In particular, the very intense relations in the economic-commercial and cultural sectors were emphasised, whose further strengthening was hoped for, as well as the efforts in the promotion of exchanges between Italian and Bosnian-Herzegovinian cities.
"Italy," said the new Ambassador, "has long invested in initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue between our two peoples in every sector. During my mandate, I will strive to further expand this cooperation'.
The Ambassador also reiterated Italy's strong support for the Euro-Atlantic integration of Bosnia-Herzegovina, emphasising that the future of the country lies in its European path, which offers opportunities for growth, stability and prosperity in an increasingly interconnected global context.
