The diplomatic-consular network in France is preparing to celebrate the 9th Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the annual thematic event promoted by the Farnesina and dedicated to the promotion of quality Italian cuisine and agri-food products in the world, with a series of over 30 events and initiatives in 9 cities, starting with Paris, that will allow the public to discover the authentic flavours and deep roots of the Italian gastronomic tradition. The central theme of this edition is 'Mediterranean Diet and Roots Cuisine: Health and Tradition'. At the centre of the events will be the value of traditional Italian cuisine, which stands out for the authenticity, wholesomeness and sustainability of its ingredients. The Italian Embassy in Paris will host a food and wine event dedicated to 'Cucina delle Radici' on 19 November, organised jointly with the Permanent Representation of Italy to UNESCO and with the support of the Paris Office of the ICE-ITA Agency. During the event, students and professors from the Hotelier Institutes "Aldo Moro" of Santa Cesarea Terme, "G. Sulpicio" of Veroli, "Vergani Navarra" of Ferrara, and "Ugo Tognazzi" of Velletri will present to the participants traditional recipes of Italian cuisine from different regions from South to North. The initiative is part of the process for the recognition of Italian Cuisine as a UNESCO Intangible Heritage. Also in Paris, the Consulate General of Italy will organise, among other things, a masterclass on 21 November with the students of the hotelier institute of Arzachena in Sardinia and the Lycéé Tirel in Paris, followed by a conference on the sacredness of ritual breads of Sardinia. All the events organised in France, from Paris to Marseille and Strasbourg, will see social inclusiveness as one of the key points of this edition. Completing the programme will be networking activities and cultural exchanges, where Italian and French companies will have the opportunity to meet, discuss and collaborate.
