Italian National Space Day was celebrated in grand style in Brazil with an important event highlighting the collaboration between Italy and the South American country in the field of space exploration and technological innovation.
The Scientific Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, Fabio Naro, the Consul General of São Paulo, Domenico Fornara, and the President of the Italian Space Agency (Asi), Professor Teodoro Valente - who spoke in a video message - took part in the ''International Workshop on Space Resources: Perspectives for Future Ecosystems'', organised by the Brazilian Space Agency (Aeb) at the Technological Innovation Park (Pit) in São José dos Campos, in the state of São Paulo.
During the event, the 'Space Food Experience' was presented, an initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, implemented by the Italian Embassy in Brazil in collaboration with the start-up EAT Freedom.
Workshop participants had the opportunity to taste Italian recipes designed for European Space Agency (ESA) space missions, combining food technology and Italian gastronomic culture. The day was also an opportunity to deepen scientific cooperation between the two countries.
The Scientific Attaché of the Italian Embassy met with representatives of the EDA's International Affairs Office and visited the facilities of the Innovation Park together with the president of the EDA, Marco Antonio Chamon, exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
The initiative represented an important step towards strengthening bilateral relations and promoting Italian excellence in the space sector, combining research, innovation and cultural tradition in a perspective of sustainable development for future ecosystems.
