The Italian Embassy in Canberra is participating in the 'Orange the World: End Violence against Women Now!' campaign, promoted by 'Un Women'. Ambassador Paolo Crudele," the ministry pointed out, "unveiled a red-painted bench to show his commitment to combating gender-based violence on this important international day.
"It is my pleasure and honour," said Ambassador Crudele in front of the Headquarters staff, "to inaugurate on this symbolic date the red bench, which invites us to reflect on the empty place left in society by the many women victims of feminicide. In line with what Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tajani said, it is necessary to oppose every act of violence or discrimination and at the same time support every effort towards full gender equality, the protection of the right to education and equal opportunities for women and girls to enter the labour market'.
