The Ambassador of Italy to Ecuador, Giovanni Davoli, visited the city of Santo Domingo. Davoli was received by the city's mayor, Wilson Erazo, who thanked him for the commitment of Italian cooperation in favour of his community and in particular for the donation of an ambulance for medical emergencies to the city's fire brigade, through the Italian-Ecuadorian Fund for Sustainable Development (Fieds).
Davoli then took part in a thank-you ceremony, organised by the fire brigade, at which, among other things, he laid the symbolic foundation stone for the construction of a new training centre for the fire brigade.
During his visit to Santo Domingo, the ambassador also met with the governor of the province of Santo Domingo de Las Tsachillas, Johana Nuñez Garcia, with whom he explored further possibilities for cooperation for the benefit of the province, one of Ecuador's main administrative, economic, financial and commercial centres.
