The National Bank of Romania, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Embassy in Bucharest inaugurated on Wednesday 27 November 2024 an exhibition dedicated to the 145th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and Italy. The exhibition presents photographs, archival diplomatic documents, testimonies and old Italian coins, illustrating the history of bilateral relations. Representing the institution hosting the exhibition, the event was opened by the Governor of the National Bank of Romania, Mugur Isărescu.
"With this exhibition, we celebrate not only 145 years of bilateral relations, but above all the extraordinary character, solidity and richness of the bond of friendship that exists between our two countries and our two peoples. A bond that is rooted in a shared history and culture, given by the common belonging to Latinity, and that today lives a particularly intense phase both in terms of political dialogue and economic partnership,' said Ambassador Alfredo Durante Mangoni.
