The business delegation of 'Sistema Nord-Est' was welcomed in Belgrade by the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, led by the President of Finest, Alessandro Minon, accompanied by the Regional Councillor for Environmental Protection, Energy and Sustainable Development of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Fabio Scoccimarro. 'Sistema Nord-Est' is the project promoted by the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Veneto Region, and the Autonomous Province of Trento to support Triveneto companies in foreign markets.
The two-day event began with an Economic Forum, opened by the President of the Republic Vucic, hosted at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce - PKS in the presence of about 70 Italian institutional and business delegates and about 100 Serbian companies. The works were closed by Serbian Prime Minister Vucevic. During the event, the governmental and financial instruments made available by the "North-Eastern System" to support enterprises and the opportunities offered by the Serbian market were presented. The Italian companies were then able to participate in a series of B2B meetings with their Serbian counterparts.
A meeting with the "Italian System" and Italian entrepreneurs operating in the country was then held at the Residence of the Italian Ambassador. In this context FINEST, Venicepromex - Agency for Internationalisation and Trentino Sviluppo signed a declaration of intent with CDP, Simest, SACE, the Italian-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Confindustria Serbia, for the promotion abroad and internationalisation of Italian companies, with a special focus on the North-Eastern area.
"The north-east area of Italy represents the beating heart of our entrepreneurial presence in Serbia, a quadrant that serves as the flywheel of our bilateral economic cooperation. A link demonstrated by the size of the delegation that arrived in Belgrade, composed of around 70 representatives from Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and the Autonomous Province of Trento," said Ambassador Gori. "The B2B that our entrepreneurs had with over 100 Serbian companies and the meetings with President Vučić and Prime Minister Vučević," added Gori, "demonstrate the strategic importance of this mission also in view of the upcoming bilateral summit.
"The objective of the mission is to create immediate business opportunities for the Triveneto companies present, through business matches with Serbian companies and the identification of opportunities related to Expo Belgrade 2027 and the world of innovation and research," said the President of Finest S.p.A. Alessandro Minon -; moreover, the presence of the highest institutions and of the entire internationalisation support system, both national and Triveneto, aims at fostering the best business conditions for any company wishing to grow in the Serbian and Balkan markets in general,' concluded Minon.
The Councillor for Environmental Protection, Energy and Sustainable Development of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region Fabio Scoccimarro, who was present at the mission by proxy of President Massimiliano Fedriga, recalled how the Balkan area plays a strategic role in the Italian government's programme for the development of foreign economic relations: "The mission to Belgrade represents a fundamental step in strengthening economic and institutional relations between Friuli Venezia Giulia, the other territories of the North-Eastern System and Serbia, in line with the objectives of the Balkans Plan promoted by the Italian government. Through synergic and concrete actions, we aim to promote new business opportunities for our enterprises and to strengthen economic integration in the area. This commitment, which is based on cooperation and sustainability, aims at consolidating the strategic role of our production system in the international context, fostering investment, trade, and lasting relations with Serbian partners."
