The Salone del Mobile di Milano starts its international road show in the United States from Miami, with the aim of presenting the main novelties of the next edition of the international benchmark event for the world of design to be held from 8 to 13 April 2025. For years in December, Miami has been the centre of world attention for gallerists and collectors from the art and design world with over 20 events, including Art Basel and Art Miami. And the Salone del Mobile for the second year running returns to Florida with a double date. Tonight at the Soho House there is an event organised by the Salone together with Agenzia Ice, the Consulate General, the Italian Cultural Institute and the main US associations of architects, designers and builders - to present the first edition of 'The Euroluce International Lighting Forum in Milan, on the occasion of the Salone. While tomorrow, at the new headquarters of the Institute of Culture in Coral Gables, a conversation will be held between Maria Porro, president of the Salone, and Vincenzo De Bellis, director of fairs at Art Basel.
"The Salone del Mobile is a globally recognised appointment, proving to be a real pole of attraction even abroad in its internationalisation activities. Agenzia Ice is working hard on promoting the Salone starting from three focus markets: the USA, China and India," said Ice president Matteo Zoppas. "2024 will also be a new record year of sales for Made in Italy in the United States, and Italian design contributes to this umpteenth major milestone to the tune of approximately $4 billion," added Carlo Angelo Bocchi, director of Ice Miami. While Porro emphasised that Miami "is establishing itself as the capital of contemporary art, and art and design are increasingly in dialogue with each other, in a relationship of mutual contamination". After Miami, the American Road Show will be in New York on 21 January and in Los Angeles on 20 February.
