The third edition of the Nice Italian Film Festival, an event organised by the Italian Embassy in Latvia and dedicated to contemporary Italian cinema, will be held from 13 to 15 December at the Splendid Palace cinema in Riga.
During the festival five films representative of contemporary Italian cinema will be presented to the Latvian public: Zamora by Neri Marcorè, Romantiche by Pilar Fogliati, Vittoria by Alessandro Cassigoli and Casey Kauffman, Gloria! by Margherita Vicario and Desiré by Mario Vezza.
"With the Nice Italian Film Festival, emerging Italian cinema returns to Riga, this year with an even more pronounced focus on women and young people as the new protagonists of the audiovisual industry," commented Alessandro Monti, Italy's ambassador to Latvia.
The festival's opening film, Zamora, will be preceded by a talk between Italian actress Marta Gastini and Latvian director and producer Matiss Kaza, part of the Caffè Young Italy series of dialogues, created to valorise the Under 35 talents of Italy and Latvia and create new creative collaborations between the two countries.
