The Italian company Scattolini Spa, active in the commercial vehicle bodywork sector, and the Turkish company IC Enterra Yenilenebilir Enerji, a company in the renewable energy sector, received the 'Leonardo Da Vinci' award for their contribution to strengthening economic relations between the two countries, at the annual ceremony organised in Istanbul by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Turkey.
The ceremony for the prestigious award, which is given every year to an Italian company that has invested in Turkey and a Turkish company that has invested in Italy, took place in the setting of the Palazzo di Venezia in Istanbul, where Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director General for European Union Affairs, Mehmet Kemal Bozay, was present as guest of honour. The Italian Ambassador to Turkey, Giorgio Marrapodi, and the President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Turkey, Stefano Kaslowski, also spoke. Deputy Minister Bozay described Italy and Turkey as 'countries united by a close and fruitful business cooperation, crucial in strengthening bilateral ties,' while Ambassador Marrapodi pointed out that 'relations between Italy and Turkey, already united by a solid friendship, are strengthening year by year in every sector, thanks also to the intense work carried out at the political and institutional level to cultivate this friendship. During the ceremony, President Kaslowski said that 'Italy and Turkey share cultural, economic and strategic goals, and our trade volume, which exceeds USD 29 billion, still has great potential for growth'. The award for IC Enterra Yenilenebilir Enerji was collected by Ibrahim Cecen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IC Holding, while Cihan Birkan, Financial Director of Scattolini Spa, collected the award for the Italian company.
