The Italian Embassy in Bangkok announces that the Thai Tourist Police has released a new smartphone application ('Thailand Tourist Police'), which provides useful information for tourists. The app also makes it possible to request assistance from the Tourist Police in case of emergencies and accidents through an integrated online call and chat system (also useful for those without a local sim). Through the app, by activating geolocation, one can also receive ad hoc alerts on specific areas of the country in case of natural disasters.
The embassy informs that the application can be downloaded from the main 'app stores' but on its website it also provides the QR code of the app.
