The Italian Ambassador to Ecuador, Giovanni Davoli, presented Paolo Sorrentino's film 'Parthenope' at an event organised in Quito by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Ecuador.
The 'premiere', sponsored by several members of the Chamber of Commerce including Generali Ecuador, took place in a VIP room in the country's capital, in the presence of a small and select audience.
The Ambassador spoke before the screening, emphasising how the high artistic quality of Sorrentino's work contributes to reaffirming Italy's position as one of the world's main forges of cinematic talent.
Davoli said he was confident that the film would receive the reception it deserves in Ecuador, a country where the 'Italian lifestyle' has been spreading strongly in recent years, as demonstrated by import figures that now see Italy ranking as Ecuador's leading trading partner among European nations.
A further event to promote 'Parthenope', sponsored by the Italian Embassy, is scheduled to take place these days in another important cinema in the capital, and the film has already been included in the programming of the country's main cinemas.
