Italy was among the 20 or more
countries at COP26 which on Thursday signed a pledge to stop
subsidies to energy sector firms which have not implemented
measures to cut emissions by the end of 2022, except in limited
and clearly defined circumstances, in line with the climate
heating limit of 1.5 degrees and the other goals of the Paris
Accord, transport ministry sources told ANSA.
The US is among the countries that signed the pledge.
