Premier Mario Draghi said Wednesday
that close to 24,000 refugees have arrived in Italy from Ukraine
so far following the Russian invasion.
"As of March 8, 21,095 Ukrainian citizens had arrived," Draghi
told a question time session in the Lower House.
"As of today it is 23,872. They arrived primarily via the
Italian-Slovenian border.
"Over 90% are women and children.
"Yesterday, there were 10,500 women, today 12,000.
"Yesterday there were 2,000 men, today 2,200.
"There were 8,500 children yesterday and 9,700 today.
"The flow is certainly set to increase".
