Populism always ends in catastrophe,
Spain's centre-left government said on the rightwing win in
Italy's general election Sunday.
"At times of uncertainty, populism grows and it always ends up
in the same way, with a catastrophe," said Foreign Minister Juan
Manuel Albares.
"They give simple and short-term answers to very complex
problems."
Albares said he respected the legitimate election result in
Italy but said he saw a "very different situation" in Spain,
where people go to the vote next year.
