Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi
has given assurances on changing a controversially tough new
anti-rave decree, Italy's three big union federations said after
their first meeting with the new minister Friday.
After voicing "concern and perplexity" on the new package of
measures, the union said they had received "reassurances" that
it would not be extended to union demonstrations, CGIL, CISL and
UIL said.
The said the clarification that protest rights would not be
affected would be inserted into the text of the decree during
its passage through parliament.
But CIGL leader Maurizio Landini said the rave law should in any
case be withdrawn because the government already had enough
powers and measures to act against illegal raves.
