All of the rescued migrants on board
the French SOS Mediterranée NGO run Ocean Viking will land at
Marseill and there will be no selection as there has been with
two ships in Italy, French interior ministry sources told ANSA
Tuesday.
"The disembarkation at Marseille will take place under the
supervision of the Prefecture," they said.
"All the migrants will be taken off the ship and then registered
as asylum seekers.
"We are preparing as if the ship were set to come in the next
few hours".
Italy has allowed off the two ships at Catania the weakest and
most vulnerable migrants but forced the others to stay aboard.
The French interior ministry sources stressed "there are no
possible restrictions, all are entitled to present an asylum
request".
