With regard to the judgement of the
Catania judge, Iolanda Apostolico, who upheld the appeal of 4
Tunisian migrants against their detention in the Pozzallo
reception centre, ruling illegtimate the government's migrant
decrees, the government's intention is to proceed with the
appeal to the supreme Court of Cassation, within the envisaged
60 days, the state attorney's office and the interior ministry
said Tuesday.
This is in consideration of the fact that the consider the
Italian regulations to be "entirely consistent with the European
norms and with the Constitutional dictates", unlike what
Apostolico found.
The appeal is being followed by the Viminale (interior ministry)
offices together with the Avvocatura dello Stato (State
attorney's office).
