Carrying Jewish symbols has become
dangerous in Italy, Naples chief rabbi said at a Holocaust
Remembrance Day ceremony brought forward from the actual date,
January 27, because Saturday is the Jewish day of rest.
"Even in Naples, wearing Jewish symbols, such as the kippah and
the Star of David, has become a danger," said Cesare Moscati,
chief rabbi of the Jewish community of Naples, on the sidelines
of the Remembrance Day celebrations.
"Some Jews in our community have been threatened, fortunately
only verbally and not physically".
