Students should be allowed to
demonstrate freely on condition that order can be maintained,
University Minister Anna Maria Bernini said on Friday amid a row
after police baton-charged pro-Palestine protests in Pisa and
Florence.
"I believe that students can demonstrate freely as long as they
do not make it impossible to maintain order," said Bernini.
"I have always been the number one supporter of demonstrations,
even of protest. Then it has to be seen how intense the
demonstration, the protest, is," she added.
