Newly elected Sardinia Governor
Alessandra Todde said Tueday the winning alliance between her
5-Star Movement (M5S) and the centre-left Democratic Party (PD)
was the only viable path for future elections at a local and
national level.
"I believe that Sardinia is not a laboratory because Sardinians
are not guinea pig," she said after beating the centre right's
Paolo Truzzu by a whisker.
"I was very happy to share this (win) with (M5S leader) Giuseppe
Conte and (PD leader) Elly Schlein who supported me throughout
the campaign
"I am very happy that this project of unity can have found a
solid project in Sardinia to show that our alliance can work".
She stressed that it is also necessary in other regions, like
Abruzzo on March 10, to "create a solid project that can
convince an electorate that wants unity
"I believe that the alliance between the PD and M5s is the only
viable path".
