Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani said Tuesday that the defeat of the centre-right
candidate in Sunday's regional elections in Sardinia will not
have an impact on Premier Giorgia Meloni's ruling coalition.
During a visit to Zagreb, the minister stressed that the result
for his centre-right Forza Italia party was "basically positive.
"We didn't win and we'll take account of that, but it will have
no effect on the stability of the government," he continued.
"We are working well together, there is perfect agreement with
Giorgia (Meloni) and (League leader and Transport Minister)
Matteo (Salvini).
"Although we are the leaders of different parties, we are
working to respect the commitment that we made with the voters.
"So they'll have to accept that this government will keep going
and the cooperation between the parties of government is
positive".
