Business and Made in Italy Minister
Adolfo Urso on Tuesday signed a joint declaration with Ahmed Ali
Abouhisa, the Industry and Minerals Minister of Libya's
Government of National Unity, in Tripoli.
The declaration is aimed at promoting economic and industrial
cooperation initiatives in the energy, critical raw materials
and green technology sectors as part of the government's Mattei
Plan, which seeks to create a new partnership with African
countries to address the root causes of irregular migration and
turn Italy into a sort of hub for energy supplies in Europe.
"Italy and Libya have numerous elements of complementarity at
the economic and industrial levels," Urso said in a statement
released by the business and made in Italy ministry (MIMIT).
"For this reason, increasingly close cooperation between the
countries gives added value to both the European Union and the
African continent, as envisaged in the Mattei Plan".
