Ilaria Salis, an Italian antifascist
on trial in Hungary for allegedly attacking neoNazis who has
been put up for next weekend's European elections by the
Green-Left Alliance (AVS) in a bid to secure her release from
custody and return to Italy, will address AVS's finaly pre-vote
rally in Turin on Thursday, AVS MP and Green leader Angelo
Bonelli said Monday.
"Ilaria Salis will hook up to Turin at the closure of our
electoral campaign," he said.
The AVS candidacy has already gained the 39-year-old Monza
elementary schoolteacher's release to house arrest in Budapest
from controversial jail detention conditions which had spurred
Italian protests.
