Around 48% of the people in Italy with
the right to vote cast their ballot in the European elections,
according to initial data released by the interior ministry on
Sunday.
The figure was based on data from less than half of the nation's
voting stations.
The turnout in the 2019 EU elections in Italy was 54.5%.
