Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli said Thursday that he was not worried after Sigfrido Ranucci, the presenter of an investigative reporting programme on State broadcaster Rai, announced that next weekend's show would feature damaging revelations about him.
"The Giuli case does not exist," the minister told reporters at the presentation of the magazine of the Venice Biennale.
"The legitimate media chatter is vastly overrated.
"I feel supported by the ruling coalition.
"This is shown by the statements made by members of the government and the parties of the ruling majority and my daily relations with them.
"There is a relationship of concord and a willingness to move forward, with strength, agreement and serenity".
The culture ministry has been hit by turmoil recently.
On Wednesday Giuli's chief of staff Francesco Spano announced he was quitting, amid reports the Rai revelations regarded him in part.
Giuli was only sworn in last month after former minister Gennaro Sangiuliano quit over a scandal regarding a would-be advisor he admitted to having an affair with - Maria Rosaria Boccia.
On Thursday Ranucci told Rai radio that the upcoming report would dig into Giuli's past, including his stint in charge of Rome contemporary art museum Maxxi.
