Italy's Thomas Ceccon won the men's 50m butterfly at the European swimming championships in Rome Friday ahead of France's Maxime Grousset in silver and Portugal's Diogo Matos Ribeiro in bronze.
Ceccon, who recorded a time of 22.89 seconds, is Italy's fourth
gold medal at the championships after Alberto Razzetti of
Lavagna near Genoa won the men's 400m individual medley, Giorgio
Minisini became the first ever to win the solo technical event
in men's synchronized swimming, and Margherita Panziera won the
women's 200m backstroke.
