Juventus and Italy midfielderr Nicolò
Fagioli said Wednesday he had self-reported to Italy's sporting
justice system and is "serene" about the affair in which he is
being investigated by the Turin Public Prosecutor's Office for
alleged online betting on unauthorised sites.
The 22-year-old Juve player's defence was explained to ANSA in a
statement by his lawyers, Luca Ferrari and Armando Simbari, who
pointed out: "Nicolò is serene and is fully focused on Juventus
and the championship".
Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) prosecutors reportedly opened a
sporting probe after Fagioli's lawyers informed them of the
criminal case.
Sporting justice bans coaches and professional footballers from
betting on official matches organized by the FIGC, FIFA and
UEFA.
