Jose Mourinho's AS Roma held out in
nine men in the closing stages to claim a 1-1 draw with
Fiorentina in Serie A at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday and stay
in the Champions League-qualification zone in fourth place.
The hosts had taken the lead thanks to Romelu Lukaku's
fifth-minute header.
But the Florence side gained the upper hand after that and Lucas
Martinez Quarta levelled with a glancing header in the second
half following the sending off of Roma's Nicola Zalewski for a
second yellow card.
Lukaku then got a straight red card in the 87th minute for a
dangerous challenge on Christian Kouame's shin.
Roma have 25 points from 15 games, 13 behind leaders Inter.
They are level on points with surprise package Bologna, who are
fifth after continuing their good form with a 2-1 win at bottom
side Salernitana on Sunday.
