AC Milan and Stefano Stefano Pioli
are set to part company after almost five years, sources said on
Thursday,
The club have reached an agreement with the coach to rescind his
contract by mutual consent, the sources said.
Milan's hardcore 'ultra' fans called for coach Pioli to be
sacked after their elimination from the UEFA Europa League at
the quarter-final stage by AS Roma left them with no hope of
lifting a trophy this season.
Pioli took over Milan in 2019 and the high point of his stint in
charge was winning the 2021-22 Serie A title.
They are sure to finish second in Serie A this term, behind
newly crowned champions and city rivals Inter.
