Pope Francis spent a quiet night in
hospital and medical staff are optimistic about his health,
sources told ANSA on Thursday.
The Pope went to Rome's Gemelli Hospital Wednesday afternoon
allegedly for "some tests that had been scheduled previously",
although he is also reported to be receiving treatment for "a
respiratory infection".
Tests have so far ruled out heart problems and pneumonia.
"The nurses are very optimistic, they believe that the Pope will
be there for next Palm Sunday celebrations," the sources said.
The Vatican said Thursday Pope Francis "had a good night".
An update on his health is expected late morning.
