Pope Francis will leave Rome's
Gemelli hospital, which he was admitted to on Wednesday with
respiratory problems, on Saturday, the Vatican said on Friday.
Matteo Bruni, the Director of the Holy See Press Office, said
the Argentine pontiff had a good day on Thursday in "clinical"
terms and was set to return to the Santa Marta residence where
he lives inside the Vatican on Saturday in the light of the
checks done on Friday morning.
On Thursday Bruni had said that Francis, 86, has experienced a
"marked improvement in his state of health" after being treated
with antibiotics for viral bronchitis.
Holy See sources said the night between Thursday and Friday went
"serenely" while other informed sources said the "situation is
tranquil and reassuring".
