Fresh charges have been admitted in
the high-profile Vatican trial on alleged mismanagement of funds
and graft, court chair Giuseppe Pignatone said Thursday.
The additional charges concern the defendants Gianluigi Torzi,
Raffaele Mincione, Enrico Craso and Fabrizio Tirabassi, with
various hypotheses of active bribery and corruption, money
laundering and self-laundering.
The Court, in an order read by Pignatone after more than an hour
of council chambers, rejected the defence's motions of "nullity"
and "not to proceed" due to "indeterminacy" and
"inadmissibility", and admitted the new charges and the new
wording that the promoter of justice Alessandro Diddi had
requested in the hearing of 30 March.
