Bear is a fictional character, who first appeared in Michael
Bond's children book published in 1958. The first book is called
'A Bear Called Paddington' and since then more than 150 titles
have been published and translated into different languages.
Fifty Paddington statues, which were designed by celebrities,
artists and organisations, have been placed in various ppublic
spaces to encourage people explore London this Christmas. All
the statues will be auctioned off by December 30 to raise funds
for children's charity.
In November 2014, Paddington Bear will appear on the big screen
for the first time in a magical adventure film 'Paddington'.
