Italy hopes that "attempts at a
solution" to the conflict sparked by Russia's invasion of
Ukraine will materialize in the next seven to eight months,
Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian counter-offensive against Russian forces "is no
walk in the park, as was known", and Italy's hope is that
"attempts at a solution" to the conflict can emerge "in a
reasonably short time, in the next seven to eight months", said
Crosetto on the sidelines of a meeting in London.
The minister added that the minimum precondition for
negotiations is a preliminary ceasefire by Moscow, namely "that
Russia stops bombing Ukraine at least for one day".
