Hungary's interior minister has
questioned the country's prosecutor general (PG) on the
conditions under which Italian antifascist Ilaria Salis is being
held after an Italian outcry after she was led into court on a
chain with her hands and ankles cuffed Monday, Foreign Minister
and Deputy Premier Antonio Tajani told the parliamentary foreign
affairs committees Tuesday.
"We are awaiting a reply," he said after the moved urged by the
Italian ambassador to Budapest.
Salis, 39, a Milanese elementary school teacher and anarchist
militant, risks up to 24 years in jail for allegedly attacking
two neoNazis almost a year ago.
