Italy is top in the Group of Seven for
the number of days in which their lower houses of parliament are
open for business, according to a survey released by the Italian
parliament Wednesday.
Italy's Chamber of Deputies leads the way with 192 working days
last year, ahead of the US House of Representatives with 180.
France's Assemblée National is third on 152 days, followed by
the British House of Commons on 134 days and the Canadian lower
chamber on 121.
Germany and Japan lag far behind with the Bundestag clocking a
mere 68 and the Shugiin a paltry 50.
Madrid's Congreso de los Diputados is second last on 60 days of
plenary session.
