(ANSA) - Rome, November 16 - Interior Minister Matteo Salvini
has said the ministry is "going forward" on replacing "parent 1"
and "parent 2" with "father" and "mother' on electronic ID cards
for children.
"We are going forward" despite the opposition of Italy's
privacy watchdog which is against the change, said Salvini.
"There is no privacy guarantor that can deny a child's right
to have a mother and a father," he said.
The Italian association of municipalities, ANCI, also came
out against Salvini's proposed change on Friday.
Family Minister Lorenzo Fontana, a League member, said "well
done Matteo, you go forward on right things!".
