(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 7 - French President Emmanuel Macron said
Friday that France will work "with good will" with the next
Italian premier.
He was speaking after putative next premier Giorgia Meloni
lamented interference from French EU Minister Laurence Boone
after the latter said Paris would be vigilant about rule of law
issues in Italy under the new government.
Macron added: "I want to express all my friendship and my full
confidence in President (Sergio) Mattarella and in the
conclusions he will draw from the assessment" of the elections
in Italy, which is expected to give Meloni a
government-formation mandate. (ANSA).
