(ANSAmed) - LAMPEDUSA, OCTOBER 26 - A reported 37 migrants,
including 16 women and a minor, reached Lampedusa on Wednesday
morning after a night without landings. The iron boat, which had
departed from Sfax in Tunisia, was rescued by the tax police's
V1102 cutter. The migrants said they were from Guinea, the Ivory
Coast and Senegal. They were also taken to the hotspot in the
Imbriacola district which was hosting, at dawn, 1,063 people.
Police officials, at the disposal of the prefecture, are
transferring to the port 110 people who will board the ferry
line that will reach Porto Empedocle on Wednesday night.
