(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 19 - ISTAT said Monday that Italy's birth
rate has declined even further, with the number of newborns
registered here dropping to 400,249 in 2021, down by 4,643
(1.1%) with respect to the previous year.
The national statistics agency said the figures for this year
look set to be ever worse.
It said provisional data for January to September show that
births were down by around 6,000 compared to the same period in
2021. (ANSA).
