Project summary
“Time4Results” is an information measure to to produce and disseminate information on the overall EU Cohesion policy in Italy, with a special attention to the new instruments of 2021-27 programming and the synergies between regional funds and the National Recovery Plan. In recent years, Cohesion policy faced multiple challenges triggered by the economic consequences of the COVID pandemics and the war in Ukraine. The Cohesion framework has proven flexibility to respond to those crises while preserving the long-term and structural characteristics of its intervention. In the next two years new challenges will need to be addressed, as the 2014-2020 programming will close and the 2021-2027 programming will become fully operational, with great relevance for Italian society at every level, as Italy is a top-beneficiary of both 2021-27 Cohesion funds and NGEU. There are, however, major Italians’ awareness gaps concerning Cohesion and the related issues:
- a general, significant, lack of recognition of the policy benefits;
- dramatic low levels of understanding and appreciation of the policy from the young generations Against this background The Consortium of “Time4Results” proposes a multi[1]level and multi-targeted information measure with a special focus on the impact and results of Cohesion policy.
“Time4Results” leverages on diverse layers of action to inform, raise awareness and participation of stakeholders, academics, media professionals, and citizens, especially young ones. The information measure includes: a dedicated two-tiered newsfeed delivered to local and national media, and directly to citizens; academic reports; online and in-presence forums with stakeholders’ participation; multimedia tools to make complex information more accessible; activities on the ground to mobilize young citizens. To support that general approach, the measure will also provide information on the results of Cohesion policy in other EU territories, beyond the local context.
