Italian Defence Minister Guido
Crosetto on Monday attended the inauguration of the NATO air
base in Kuçova, Albania, in what he described as a "significant
milestone" in bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
"Our presence testifies to Italy's commitment to Albania, a
country with which we share deep historical, cultural and
friendship ties due to our geographical proximity and common
vision," said Crosetto at the ceremony attended by Albanian
President Bajram Begaj, Parliamentary Speaker Lindita Nikolla,
Premier Edi Rama, Defence Minister Niko Peleshi and US Chargé
d'Affaires David Wisner.
