Italy ranks fifth to last in
Europe for new registrations in 2023, with only 4.5% of the
total being electric vehicles, according to new Eurostat data.
Italy, on the other hand, is one of the most successful new
hybrid car markets, accounting for 40.5% of registrations and
ranking seventh. Poland (3.6%), the Czech Republic (3.1%),
Slovakia (2.9%), and Croatia (2.6%) are the only countries with
lower e-car sales than Italy. Hungary (46%), Finland (43.8%),
Lithuania (42.8%), Estonia (42.2%), Poland (42%), and Cyprus
(41.9%) account for the majority of hybrids.
