The EU criticised Christian
Schmidt's initiative to impose changes to Bosnia-Herzegovina's
electoral law, which is one of the most divisive issues in the
country. Schmidt, who is in charge of overseeing the
implementation of the Dayton agreements that ended the war in
the 1990s and has broad executive authority, including the
capacity to impose decisions that are legally binding on local
governments, announced the decision yesterday.
