Italy's Defense Minister Guido
Crosetto addressed concerns regarding the crisis in Syria,
stating, "It is essential that we comprehend the evolving
situation in the coming days. The most immediate concern is the
potential for individuals to flee the country. They could use
the Balkan route to reach Europe or cross the Mediterranean to
access the countries along its shores."
This statement was made to journalists after a ceremony in
Livorno marking the delivery of the new Trieste ship to the
Italian Navy. Crosetto emphasized the importance of recognizing
theinsecurity of this crisiss in an unstable region, adding,
"These are issues we are monitoring daily."
